Bus shelter

A transit shelter built around a cantilevered canopy, a bench along one side, a lean bar for shorter waits, and a live streetcar and bus map. The roof is a folded plane carried on a single spine, so the shelter reads as one gesture rather than a box with a lid.

The 1:20 model is built from what each part needed to be. Base in MDF with styrene sheet, sculpted and painted, including the concrete texture and a printed sewer grate. Structure in thick acrylic. Roof is a printed frame with styrene sides and acrylic glazing. The bench is real balsa, the bin is styrene, the planters are printed, and the cigarette butts on the pavement are toothpick tips.

The night photographs are that model, shot on Highway 7 in Vaughan at night, not renders. The model is currently on display in a case at Humber.
