A side table, and a place to keep what you’re reading.

Two five-millimetre bent 6061 aluminum shells bolt together to form a flat top and an open compartment below. The compartment keeps books and magazines upright and within reach, and the top comfortably holds six coffees, in case reading goes long.

It’s built to the Standard Equipment formula: five-millimetre aluminum, raw finish, standard M8 hardware and SE silicone bushings.

The design began as a small magazine holder, grew into a compact table, and went through iterations as the blueprint for an audio set, later rendered as the SE audio system.

Designed for Standard Equipment’s 2025 design contest, where it tied for first place across three winning entries. Currently in development with the studio.

SE Development

Since the contest, Josh Gadomski at Standard Equipment has been developing the design in house, resolving it into a table and then extending the same folded-sheet system into a full audio setup. All renders in this section are by Josh Gadomski, Standard Equipment.
